THE CLEARINGHOUSE FOR LOST AND FOUND SOUND ON SOUND

Uranium City Records is the home of rock and roll for those who live, physically or mentally, near or above the 60th parallel. Originally a CD-R label, we've branched out into the world of podcasting and now offer a weekly take on what rocks the great north. Check that out for a quick way to know if you can get with what we're talking about here. Enjoy the tour. Wear a parka.

LOST SOUND: Sound which was recorded for a certain purpose and no longer serves that purpose; sound that defies classification.

FOUND SOUND: Sound grabbed out of the air or the garbage can and used anew; sound discovered from a musical instrument or implement of some kind; all the sounds that can be heard.

SOUND ON SOUND: Manipulating sounds on top of other sounds in a composition.

Uranium City Records is a small, non-profit CD-R and tape label that began as a way for basement musicians to get their music heard. Expanding from that basic premise, we exist to provide an avenue of release, exposure and trade for any recorded sound imaginable. We are the clearinghouse for lost and found sound on sound.

We are here to put your material on record, whatever that material might be, and distribute it to listeners the world over. We archive your sounds.

We are the perfect outlet for making one-of-a-kind archival recordings of important events; please contact us about recording you or your band's next performance for limited edition release on Uranium City Records.
