SOUND SUBMISSION
...just make sure you mean it...
NOTICE: As of 10/09/05, we are no longer accepting unsolcited submissions. Please e-mail first if you absolutely HAVE to have something out on U.C.R. We simply no longer have the resources necessary to devote to giving submissions a fair listen. There are PLENTY of independent CD-R labels flooding the bandwidth out there...check out the links. Our apologies for those of you who gave US a fair shake these last few years.
Here is the original submission policy, to remind me of the passion I used to have for this sort of thing. And seriously, if what you have to offer is balls-out cool as shit, PLEASE let me know. I want to hear it.
Any and all recordings, as long as the submission is sincere, will be considered for release on Uranium City Records. Our purpose is to release material which might not otherwise be heard. You alone choose what we release. So whether you play rock, soul, country, jazz, noise, Norwegian Death Metal, fight songs, or funny television jingles, we will release it.
"But what if I'm not exactly sure WHAT it is I play?"
Then you, sir or madam, we are most interested in hearing. We are the clearinghouse for lost and found sound, that sound that doesn't quite fit nicely on an average person's shelf. If you are a basement musician and have tapes and tapes of things you don't want your husband/wife/children to hear, and not necessesarily because they are obscene, please consider making a submission. Your recordings have a home here at Uranium City Records.
We will add as much or as little production as you wish. If you want us to give your sounds the full Uranium City Records treatment, we will. If you don't want us touching any of it, we will keep our mitts off the controls and simply release it as is.
Suppose you aren't a basement musician but discovered a box of old correspondence on tape in your grandparent's basement. Please consider making a submission. We'd like to hear it, you should have it archived, and those tapes have a home at Uranium City Records.
And if your child took the tape recorder outside and recorded the sounds of the neighborhood as the sun set, please consider making a submission. That sunset is exactly the type of thing we like to archive at Uranium City Records.
So pick up a box of nails and a trash can, or a saxophone and a drumstick, or an anvil and a hammer and pound, blow, scratch and plunk away. Celebrate the magic of sound. Act out the depths of humanity. Play along to the beauty or ugliness of life. Make a tape of it and send it in. Just make sure you mean it...
Any and all recordings, in any format, will be considered for release on Uranium City Records. Please contact uraniumcity at hotmail dot com for further submission information.
