Second in the Radio Dada series, we bring you an episode of Cacophonix from WHPK in Chicago broadcast in the Spring of 2003. Hosted, edited and mixed by C.M. Sienko, this particular edition of the popular radio-as-performance-art program is dedicated to Ozzy Osbourne and the original lineup of Black Sabbath. Overtop a jittering, nervously chirping track by Nerve Net Noise off their Meteor Circuit album on Intransitive Records, Sienko manages to cram so much metal up your ass that if you don't listen carefully, you'll die from cadmium AND antimony poisoning. That isn't to say he simply layers a Black Sabbath record over a Slayer record and then adds equal parts Throbbing Gristle and Iron Maiden; this is a heavy metal tribute in the truest sense. Not ironic, not gimmicky, but all times in your face, loud and heavy. And BEAUTIFUL, that ugly textural beauty Sienko acheives with expert slicing and editing via manually controlled turntables. You really have to BELIEVE this to HEAR it.

"Leave your 'The Osbournes' fanzines and Guns N' Roses T-Shirts suddenly made cool by Shakira at the door, friends and fools. Noise and Metal aren't mutually exclusive, and you haven't heard either until you've heard them this way." -Joe Johnston
