Here's a last minute holiday treat for you all. After hearing Jethro Tull's AWESOME Christmas album from 2003 and enjoying the Phil Spector Christmas Gift album from the '60s, I had wanted to start compiling a uniquely Uranium City style Christmas album at the beginning of 2004. The idea was to have as many songs from as many areas of the world and in as many unique styles as I could find. Well, I never got around to it. Then I absolutely lost all interest and inspiration in recording anything and needed a break. During my early December, 2004 Tobermory sabbatical I remembered a Christmas song The Clawson Two recorded last year, and I got on the horn with The Polish Tenors and found out it was available for release. I was inspired anew to compile a Christmas album, but also knew time was quickly disappearing. What good is a Christmas album in early January? I asked the Gagetown String Band to get out to the barn and start scraping and Gary Glitter's Hard Drive in Chicago if they could come up with something short notice. They both came through like GANGBUSTERS. Even my wife wanted to contribute, and she is heard playing a hauntingly gorgeous version of Auld Lang Syne for solo violin. The resulting compilation is fantastic...the whole spirit of this crazy holiday can be summed up in this little fifteen minute 3", and you can download the whole thing free right up above.

From us to you, may you have a most wonderful Christmas and a truly inspiring and happy new year. And please get to work on your submission for A Uranium City Christmas 2005!
